About Kim Jones, MA

Kim Jones, MA, LPC-S, LMFT-S, PMH-C is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist providing therapy in Central Houston, conveniently serving clients in Greenway Plaza, West University (West U), River Oaks, Bellaire, and surrounding Houston neighborhoods. She offers compassionate, evidence-based counseling for adults, couples, and families navigating anxiety, depression, relationship stress, trauma, pregnancy and postpartum challenges, and major life transitions. Kim also provides teletherapy services throughout the state of Texas, allowing clients across Texas to access support from the comfort and privacy of their own homes.

Kim earned her Master of Arts in Family Therapy from the University of Houston–Clear Lake in 2013. She is recognized by the State of Texas as both an approved Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Supervisor and Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor. In addition, Kim holds the Perinatal Mental Health Certification (PMH-C) through Postpartum Support International, demonstrating advanced expertise in supporting mothers, fathers, and families experiencing perinatal mood and anxiety disorders during pregnancy and postpartum.

In individual therapy, Kim works with clients facing a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship difficulties, substance abuse recovery, family-of-origin issues, and stress related to pregnancy, postpartum adjustment, and parenting. Her therapeutic style is warm, collaborative, and grounded in helping clients feel understood while building practical tools for healing and growth.

Kim also specializes in couples counseling and relationship therapy in Houston. She has extensive experience helping couples strengthen communication, rebuild trust, and maintain emotional connection through the transition to parenthood and the demands of raising young children. As a Certified Gottman Institute Bringing Baby Home Educator, she integrates research-based relationship strategies into her work with couples. She also supports partners recovering from infidelity, betrayal, and other relational wounds with empathy and structure.

Before entering full-time private practice, Kim served as Associate Clinical Director of The Center for Postpartum Family Health from 2015–2024. Her previous clinical experience also includes serving as Director of Teen and Family Services of The Woodlands and training at DePelchin Children’s Center and The University of Texas Health Science Center, where she worked with children, adolescents, adults, and families.

In addition to her clinical work, Kim is a professional speaker and educator throughout the Houston area. She presents on topics including perinatal mental health, self-care, addiction recovery, and healthy relationships. She has been featured on KHOU Houston news discussing maternal mental health and has presented nationally at Postpartum Support International conferences on relationship health during the transition to parenthood.
